Kyiv Around ALMA School: "Ukraine" cinema
About a 20 minute walk from ALMA School, at the base of Horodetskoho descent, there is a majestic movie theater, patriotically named "Ukraine".
More than a century ago the space was occupied by a circus.
World War II left the building in ruin. In 1964, after the restoration, the cinema was opened, becoming the first big-screen movie theater in Kyiv.
It remains one of the most prestigious cinemas in the city and hosts various film festivals and premiers.
